Professional Data Recovery Software
Recover Lost Data in 3 Steps

Many of my articles about file recovery are decidedly negative; I tell folks that messing with a hard drive probably will make things worse, and that they ought to be ready with an expensive bill should they need hard disk recover file services. I get ready all that, but I want to advise you that it isn't all bad news--there are several situations where cheap, easy data recovery techniques can be in the home, although I make no promise as to their effectiveness and all that good stuff.
Here are several simple and cheap what to try to recover data coming from a harddrive--before you give up and call an experienced.
Data recovery software - If you've deleted personal files or if you're dealing with very light physical issues, you may be able to use file recovery software. Choose your recover file software from the respected company. Many major recovery providers like Ontrack and Datarecovery.com get their own proprietary programs, that make the perfect place to begin.
Carefully follow all of the instructions for top odds of file recovery. Don't install the application on the same drive that data was deleted from. Data recovery software is amazing stuff, but you have got to use some sound judgment.
Accessing it from another drive - If your hard disk's os stops loading, one of the primary issues that you want to do is attempt to can get on by plugging it in like a secondary or "slave" hard disk. Be careful to ground yourself when touching any hard disk drive, naturally, and check the jumper settings around the back in the drive before booting up.
If you're not comfortable with attaching a hard disk to some computer, you can find external hard disk kits available that enable you to easily access your hard drive on another computer via USB. Whatever the case, it's worth a trial, such as many cases operating-system files get corrupted and drives must be accessed via other means.
Hitting it - Okay, don't actually hit your drive immediately. I have a few what to add.
There are certain older hard disk drives who are suffering from spindle issues, the location where the spindle (it is exactly what, uh, spins) suddenly locks up. In many cases, an easy hit using a small hammer to the center of the hard disk drive can take back the spindle for too long enough that data is easy to remove in the drive.
Now, that does not always work, if you are able to already hear your drive spinning, it's not really likely to work. I'd only do that if you have an adult drive and when the data's not really worth the $700-1000 that a specialist file recovery company would charge. Still, it might have you feeling like a genius, and it is always fun going to things using a hammer, right?
Again, do NOT do that which has a drive that's physically damaged if you don't wish to risk crucial computer data. It's a form of final option thing--but it could work in the best circumstances.
Do you have some other methods for cheap in the home file recovery? Post them below, but only should they work!
