Recover Lost Data in 3 Steps

Over the past many years, the increasingly rapid evolution of technology has triggered new computers or cellphones becoming outdated in just 1 or 2 years. Chances are, you've gone through a minimum of ten digital devices before decade, or even more. It has become standard practice to upgrade to your newer oral appliance often sell, donate, or discard that old one. Or you've received a fresh computer or mobile phone for any holiday gift and require to reduce that old one.
What did you do with all your old devices? Some might be inside your basement, others received away, and you probably have hocked a few on eBay or Craigslist. Did you know the cool thing is that you just inadvertently put your digital data in another person's hands should you no more have the device?
I recently bought 20 laptops, desktops, netbooks, notebooks, tablets, Macs, and mobiles through Craigslist, all from sellers located within 90 minutes of home. Of the 20, three ones had never been wiped, which means that I bought the devices just as they once sat on someone's desk. The original owners had made no effort to clean the data, which resulted in I was able to access the records of the entire digital lives. 17 from the devices ended up wiped, meaning that the vendor took the time to reformat or reinstall the main system. Of the 17 wiped drives, seven contained remnants from the previous users' digital lives. Despite the effort built to reformat or reinstall the systems, there have been partitions and leftover data for the drives.
After having spent recent years months working with a forensics expert, I've come to in conclusion that even if you wipe and reformat a tough drive, you might still miss something. IT professionals tasked with data destruction use 'wiping' software, and you also can too. But after what I've seen, more must be done. This means internal and external drives, thumb drives, SD cards, and other things that stores data ought to be destroyed.
So whether you destroy an unwanted drive using a sledgehammer, or work with a drill press to make it into swiss cheese, or use a hack saw to reduce it into pieces, and after that drop those pieces in to a bucket of salt water for, oh, say per year, simply to be safe, for your own good, don't sell it on eBay or Craigslist.
